Forget the nonsense about weather and climbing conditions…..THIS<\/em> was our morning;<\/p>\n

the first half an hour, anyway. \u00a0It was a captivating morning with the clouds holding tight to the mountains, while the crisp morning air kept us cool in the sunshine. \u00a0The waterfalls were running strong; only wish we could capture the sound in the pictures. \u00a0The morning was incredible, surrounded by huge mountains and the only sound was that of the streams refreshed from last night’s rain. \u00a0Many, many<\/em> more pictures are below.<\/p>\n

Then the climbing began, but it was not without it’s rewards,\"DSCN0654\"<\/a>incredible hills reflecting in the still loch.\"DSCN0660\"<\/a>After climbing for over an hour, we had a wonderful drop. \u00a0Somewhere along that drop we flew by the Glenfinnan Church,\u00a0\"gfsmf1\"<\/a>Unfortunately, we had to take\u00a0this photo off the web; what we saw with the clouds and hills in the distance was far more incredible…..could not brake fast enough. \u00a0The scenery was just as incredible \"photo-2\"<\/a>at the bottom of our drop. \u00a0For miles we were captivated by the tremendous mountain in front of us.\"DSCN0662\"<\/a>Apparently we were fortunate to see the top of\u00a0Ben Nevis<\/a>, Great Britan’s tallest mountain (4409 feet); many travel to see it shrouded in clouds. \u00a0As we approached Fort William at the base of the mountain, we were treated to a canal path\"DSCN0667\"<\/a>along the locks.\"DSCN0664\"<\/a>With a shorter ride today, we had time for a real lunch,\"DSCN0680\"<\/a>once again serenaded by bagpipes.\"DSCN0678\"<\/a>During our leisurely lunch, the wind (in our face) had time to gather as we biked the three miles out of town \"DSCN0681\"<\/a>past numerous bed and breakfasts along the water. \u00a0Our last 20 miles was along a very busy and narrow\"DSCN0690\"<\/a> dual carriageway. \u00a0An occasional photo along the way proved worthwhile.\"DSCN0692\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our Inn was another nice surprise, surrounded by beautiful gardens<\/p>\n

\"DSCN0703\"<\/a>and positioned\u00a0along the shore of Loch Linnhe that leads to the Atlantic. \u00a0Within a couple of hours, our beautiful sunny skies had started to turn.\"DSCN0702\"<\/a>“According to the forecast”, this was the last sunny day we will have in a week….and we thoroughly enjoyed it AND celebrated it with dinner and wine!\"DSCN0709\"<\/a>After all, it’s a long ride tomorrow in the cold and rain.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
