srcset=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1486-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1486.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><strong><em>and sunshine<\/em><\/strong>, as we left the town of Dundalk and out onto the busy roads. \u00a0Though the west southwest winds were noticeable in our southerly direction, they were not proving too strong on our flat stretch. \u00a0Our easy warm up lasted for about a half an hour and then the gradual climbing began. \u00a0Churches were everywhere,<a href=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1497.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[14559]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-14640\" src=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1497-300x221.jpg\" alt=\"DSCN1497\" width=\"300\" height=\"221\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1497-300x221.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1497.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a> sometimes one on every block, though most were concealed by trees. <a href=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1494.jpg\" 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 Besides the churches, there was not a lot that was memorable or picture worthy on our busy road. <a href=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1502.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[14559]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-14641\" 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0But the\u00a0cool air and warm sunshine was good enough for us&#8230;..at the moment. \u00a0Almost two hours into our ride, we finally had a downhill <a href=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1503.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[14559]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-14642\" src=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1503-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"DSCN1503\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1503-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1503.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>into Drogheda along the River Boyne.<a href=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1506.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[14559]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1514-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1514.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>the gusts challenging our forward momentum. \u00a0But a\u00a0promised day off when\/if we reached Dublin, was enough to keep pushing into the city. \u00a0Traffic roared by us all afternoon, but a dedicated bike path along the highway made it safer and a bit more direct. \u00a0The day had been perfect for biking (except for the winds in our face) and the beautiful weather had followed us to Dublin; <a href=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1516.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[14559]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-14647\" src=\"https:\/\/tourdebocrie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSCN1516-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"DSCN1516\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>and rest is in order after our 58 mile ride today. \u00a0Just hope the clouds that seemed to be gathering in the evening sky, <a
