The morning was thick with humidity, so 72\u00b0 seemed much warmer than our previous mornings. \u00a0We took a roundabout tour of the city,\"\"<\/a> \u00a0past (the backside of) Ybor City \"\"<\/a>and several industrial neighborhoods before making it out of\u00a0Downtown Tampa. \u00a0But the city\u00a0was (almost) void of traffic, so the pace was easy and\u00a0unhurried.<\/p>\n

We traveled south on a very well used and abused industrial road,\"\"<\/a>\u00a0slowly pedaling\u00a0up bridges and past the Port of Tampa. \u00a0Aside from the waterways we climbed\u00a0and a couple of very<\/em> nice neighborhoods,\"\"<\/a>\u00a0there was little to see, but traffic was light\u00a0and\u00a0the morning quiet.<\/p>\n

Two and a half hours in, we stopped for breakfast reinforcement from the meager offering we had earlier. \u00a0Refreshed again, we continued in the quickly warming day through Palmetto and over (another) bridge into Bradenton.\"\"<\/a>But the road was now busy\u00a0and our shoulder gone, so we were whisked along with the traffic. \u00a0Also, a waffling breeze\u00a0would occasionally come from behind and take some strain off our constant pedaling. \u00a0When it happened, the swirling breeze and sometime\u00a0cloudy sky was a relief.\"\"<\/a>as the direct sun was brutal.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, with a little wind assist, we made it to our hotel, shade and air conditioning a little after 1:00. \u00a0With the day being pretty boring for sites, our facilities flowers \"\"<\/a>were a welcome smile to end the day’s ride.<\/p>\n

We spent the next couple hours trying to secure rooms for the next several days. \u00a0Once done, all that is left is Dinner……Ah, what a glorious time of the day! \u00a0After checking out a couple of the choices that looked good on the web, we ended up at a very local joint<\/a>. \u00a0Truth be told, thanks to our travel companion, Bobby,\u00a0he’d seen it earlier and suggested it when we came up without a place to eat. \u00a0The seven<\/em><\/strong> layer Lasagna was amazing,\"\"<\/a> as was the Stromboli and pizza. \u00a0Pretty sure dinner\u00a0was more than our 54 miles burned off, but it was So worth it!!<\/p>\n\n\t\t
